Playing Badminton 打羽毛球

Basics 基礎(chǔ)

Mom: Its a beautiful daytoday!

媽媽：今天天氣不錯(cuò)！

Do you want to go play badmintonoutside?

你想去外面打羽毛球嗎？

Child: Yeah, but I dont know how to.

寶寶：好啊，但是我不知道怎么打。

Mom: Dont worry, Ill showyou.

媽媽：沒事，我教你。

You put onyour shoes,

你去穿鞋，

and Ill get the racquetsand shuttlecock.

我去拿拍子和球。

Racquet也可以寫作racket。羽毛球也可以簡(jiǎn)稱shuttle，但不能簡(jiǎn)稱ball，因?yàn)閎all是圓的球。

Child: Can I wear my new sneakers?

寶寶：我能穿我的新運(yùn)動(dòng)鞋嗎？

Mom: Sure, they will help your feet grip the ground,

媽媽：當(dāng)然，它們抓地力很好，

and let you move side tosideeasily.

可以讓你靈活地左右移動(dòng)。

Outside 在外面

Child: How do we play badminton?

寶寶：羽毛球怎么玩啊？

Mom: Try to hitthe shuttlecock over the net.

If it hits the ground,

youll earn a point.

你就能得一分。

You get the next serve, too.

你也得到了下個(gè)球的發(fā)球權(quán)。

Child: What if you hitit?

寶寶：你要是接到了呢？

Mom: If I hit it

媽媽：如果我接到了，

and returnit to your side,

而且把它打回你這邊了，

we will keep playing

咱們就繼續(xù)打，

until someone doesnt hit it over the net or its out of the court.

直到一個(gè)人打不過(guò)網(wǎng)或者出界了。

Child: Got it.

寶寶：明白了。Mom: Now, Ill show you how to serve.

媽媽：現(xiàn)在我來(lái)教你如何發(fā)球。

You can either use a forehandor a backhand stroke.

你既可以用正手，也可以用反手。

Forehand means that you swing the racquet

正手的意思就是你揮拍的時(shí)候，

with your palmfacing the net.

手心對(duì)著網(wǎng)。

Backhand means swinging it with your knucklesfacing the net.

反手就是揮拍的時(shí)候指關(guān)節(jié)對(duì)著網(wǎng)。

Lets do forehand today.

咱們今天先用正手。

Child: How do I do it?

寶寶：怎么做呢？

Mom: You serve by swinging the racquet up to meetthe shuttlecock,

媽媽：發(fā)球的時(shí)候，你要把球拍往上揮來(lái)接觸球，

which must be below your waist.

一定要在腰以下。

Child: Ill try to do that.

寶寶：我試試。

Oops!

哎呀！

I missedit.

我沒打著。

Mom: Dont worry.

媽媽：沒關(guān)系。

Just keep trying.

多試試。

Technique and Tricks 技術(shù)與技巧

Mom: Now that you know the basic skills,

媽媽：你已經(jīng)掌握基本技能了，

I will teach you some tricksto help you win.

我來(lái)教你一些技巧來(lái)贏得比賽。

When youre hitting,

你擊球的時(shí)候，

try to aimthe shuttlecock to the corners of the court.

試著把球朝球場(chǎng)的角兒那兒打。

That will keep the other player moving.

這樣對(duì)方就得移動(dòng)。

It wearsthem out

這樣能耗費(fèi)他們的體力，

and makes them easier to beat.

更好打敗他們。

Child: OK, Ill try that.

寶寶：好的，我試試。

Mom, I heard drop shot and smash on TV.

媽媽，我在電視上聽到“吊球”和“扣球”。

What are they?

它們是什么啊？

Mom: Drop shots at the net can force opponents out of position.

媽媽：網(wǎng)前吊球可以迫使對(duì)手失去好的站位。

A smash is a powerful attack

扣球是一種有力的進(jìn)攻，

and can be used to win points outright.

可以用來(lái)直接得分。

When your opponentsmashes,

你的對(duì)手扣球的時(shí)候，

you have to defend,

你要防守，

but the best move is to give them no chanceto smash.

但是最好的方法是不給他們機(jī)會(huì)扣球。

A Match 比賽

Mom: Lets play a match.

媽媽：咱們打個(gè)比賽吧。

A badminton match is the best two of three games,

羽毛球比賽是三局兩勝，

and each game is played up to 21 points.

每局要打到21分。

The first one to get 21 points wins.

誰(shuí)先到21分誰(shuí)贏。

Are you ready forit?

你準(zhǔn)備好了嗎？

Child: I am!

寶寶：準(zhǔn)備好了！

Mom: Okay, Ill serve first.

媽媽：好的，我先發(fā)球吧！

The game progresses 比賽繼續(xù)

Child: I won a point!

寶寶：我得了一分！

Mom: You sure did.

媽媽：是的。

Now you serve.

現(xiàn)在你來(lái)發(fā)球。

The game progresses 比賽繼續(xù)

Child: Mom, did the shuttlecock landin or out of the court?

寶寶：媽媽，球落在界內(nèi)還是界外了呀？

Mom: Its right on the line.

媽媽：正好壓線。

You got the point.

你得分。

Its a match pointnow.

賽點(diǎn)到了。

See if you can win the game.

看看你能不能贏得比賽。

口語(yǔ)中說(shuō)“贏得比賽”一般用win the game；這句話從專業(yè)術(shù)語(yǔ)角度，也可以說(shuō)win the match。

Shuttlecock goes back and forth 球來(lái)回飛

Child: Out!

寶寶：出界了！

Youre out, Mommy.

你出界了。

I win!

我贏了！

Can we play another round?

咱們?cè)偻嬉?span style="color: green;">局吧？

雖然“局”的專業(yè)名詞是game，但是普通人在口語(yǔ)中通常用round。

Mom: Its getting windy.

媽媽：起風(fēng)了。

The wind might change the directionof our shuttlecock.

風(fēng)會(huì)改變球的方向。

Lets call it a day
