2020農歷屬于庚子年，鼠年。外教郭杰瑞問了皮卡丘一個問題，中國人說的鼠年，是Rat還是Mouse？這可是個冷知識，今天皮卡丘科普一下

我們先來看看劍橋詞典給Rat和Mouse的定義：

①Rat：a small rodent, larger than a mouse, that has a long tail and is consideredto be harmful.

②Mouse：a small mammal with short fur, a pointed face, and a long tail.

通過比較我們可以看出，兩者最直觀的區(qū)別在于體型大小，rat是大型老鼠，mouse是小型老鼠，常見的“家鼠”就是mouse，我們熟悉的米老鼠是（Mickey Mouse）《貓和老鼠》里面的Jerry都是mouse。

其實在我們貴州、云南以及福建寧化地區(qū)田鼠（a field mouse）還是一種美食，它們吃稻谷長大，所以烤田鼠味道不錯（皮卡丘小時候是吃過了,巴適得很！）

我們城市下水道里居住的則是臭名昭著、體型龐大的rat，西方世界rat往往是邪惡、粗俗的代名詞

Mouse則被看作好玩、可愛或容易侍弄，也是卡通形象中經(jīng)常使用的，我們有些人也愛養(yǎng)寵物鼠（a pet mouse）不過它經(jīng)常被用來形容靦腆、膽小的人。

綜上所述，皮卡丘認為Rat有貶義聯(lián)想，所以鼠年用the Year of the Mouse更佳。

按西方星座觀念，你可以問：

“我屬鼠”有三種回答：

03、“本命年”用英語該怎么說？

外教郭杰瑞告訴皮卡丘，本命年在英文里還可以講：

Year of fate 或者 animal year 或者big year 所以“本命年”可以說：

①This year is my year of fate .

②This year is my animal year .

③This year is my big year.

④This year is my birth year.

例句：

① Its the year of the pig，my animal year.

今年是豬年，我的本命年。

②Which year of the animal were you born in?

你的本命年是哪一年？
