一、基礎句型:
1. 形容詞,副詞比較級(原形+er)than ...
單音節(jié)和部分雙音節(jié)詞,在原形后面加er構成比較級,
如果是以“輔音加y結尾”的詞,改y為i再加er。
In the country its usually quieter at night than in the cities.
在鄉(xiāng)下,晚上通常比城市安靜。
The eagle flies faster than most birds.
鷹比大多數(shù)鳥飛得快。
If you grow your vegetables, theyll be fresher that those you buy from the markets.
如果你種蔬菜,它們會比你從市場上買的更新鮮。
He always arrives earlier than any other workmates.
他總是比其他同事來得早。
He works harder than any other students in the class.
他比班上其他學生都用功。
(與一個范圍內的其它人/物比較,記得用 any other ...)
His house is much bigger than mine.

On average the housing prices are three times higher than twenty years ago .

(比較級前可以用much, a little, far和表示倍數(shù)的詞等修飾。)

2. 形容詞,副詞比較級(more +原形)than...
部分雙音節(jié)和多音節(jié)詞,用 “more +原形”構成比較級,
Jack is more handsome than his twin brother.
杰克比他的孿生兄弟英俊。
He goes to work more often by bike than by bus.
他上班經(jīng)常騎自行車,而不是坐公共汽車。
Is it more important to develop the economy than (to) protect the environment?
發(fā)展經(jīng)濟比保護環(huán)境更重要嗎?
Do you think football is more exciting than basketball?
你認為足球比籃球更刺激嗎?
Im more interested in old films from the twentieth century (than newly-made ones).
我對二十世紀的老電影(比新拍的電影)更感興趣。

3. 形容詞,副詞比較級不規(guī)則變化 than...
good(好的),well(健康的): better
bad (壞的), ill(有病的)/ worse
old (老的): older/elder
much,many(多的): more
little(少的): less
far (遠的): farther/further
No one knows more about Europe than he (does).
沒有人比他更了解歐洲。
We are living a better life than in the past.
我們現(xiàn)在的生活比過去好了。
This time, well travel farther into the woods than last time.
這次,我們將比上次更加深入森林。
4. as 形容詞,副詞原形 as ...
表示“與... 一樣”,為同級比較,要用“as 形容詞,副詞原形 as ...”。
I go to the library as often as he does.
我和他一樣經(jīng)常去圖書館。
No one can walk in the outer space as easily as on Earth.
沒有人能像地球上那樣輕易地在外太空行走。
In the house, it is as warm as in Spring.
房子里和春天一樣暖和。
He is as clever as (he is) handsome.
他很聰明,又長的英俊。
注意:
1)否定形式中,as往往改為so:
The singer is not so/as popular as (he was) last year.
這位歌手沒有去年那么受歡迎。
He doesnt read so/as fast as his sister.
他看書沒有他姐姐快。
2)as ... as ...前面可以用倍數(shù)詞修飾:
The classroom is twice as large as that one.
這個教室有那個教室的兩倍大。
In the company, he earns three times as much as he used to.
在這家公司里,他的收入是過去的兩倍。
The expected life of females span is twice as long as two centuries ago.
女性的預期壽命是兩個世紀前的兩倍。
注意:倍數(shù)詞修飾名詞有時也可以表達相同的意思:
It was over twice the distance from London to Paris.
它的距離是從倫敦到巴黎的距離兩倍多。
= Its distance is twice as far as that of London to Paris.
5. the + 形容詞,副詞最高級(原形加est)
單音節(jié)和部分雙音節(jié)詞,在原形后面加est構成最高級,
如果是以“輔音加y結尾”的詞,改y為i再加est。
Its the hottest day of this summer.
今天是夏天里最熱的一天。
You are the kindest person Ive met.
你是我見過的最善良的人。
Its one of the most exciting movies that Ive ever seen.
這是我看過的最激動人心的電影之一。
He runs (the) fastest of the three (boys).
他是三個男孩中跑得最快的。
The oldest man in the village is 105 (years old).
村里最年長的人是105歲。
Mount Everest is the highest mountain peak in the world.
珠穆朗瑪峰是世界上最高的山峰。
The fastest ants in the world can travel 108 times their body length per second. That is 10 times quicker than the fastest human on the planet.
世界上跑得最快的螞蟻每秒能跑它們身長108倍的距離,速度是地球上速度最快的人的10倍。
注意:副詞的最高級前the可以省略。
a + 最高級,一般是“非常...”的意思。
Its a best view looking out from here.
從這里看出去是景色非常美。
Its a most important day in my life.

6. the most +原形
部分雙音節(jié)和多音節(jié)詞,用 “the most +形容詞,副詞原形”構成最高級,
Shanghai is the most modern city in China.
上海是中國最現(xiàn)代化的城市。 Thats the most beautiful town Ive ever visited!
那是我到過最美的小鎮(zhèn)! Which river is the shortest among the three?
這些河流中,哪條最短?
7. 最高級的不規(guī)則變化:
good(好的),well(健康的):best
bad (壞的), ill(有病的): worst
old (老的): oldest/eldest
much,many(多的):most
little(少的): least
far (遠的):farthest/furthest
Of all the four seasons, I like Autumn the most.
在一年四季中,我最喜歡秋天。
He eats the least at dinner.
他晚餐吃得最少。
Its the worst restaurant in the town.
這是城里最差的餐館。

二、特殊句型:
1. the 比較級..., the 比較級 ...
表示“越...,越...”
The sooner the better.
越快越好。
The morehaste, the less speed.
欲速則不達。
The harderyou work, the better grades you get.
你越努力,成績就越好。
The longer you stay with her, the more you learn.
你和她在一起越久,你學到的東西就越多。
The moreyou give, the more you get.
你付出的越多,得到的越多。
2. 比較級+比較級
表示“越來越...”
It becomes colder and colder in December.
十二月天氣越來越冷。
My girl grows taller and taller.
我女兒越來越高了。
The train ran faster and faster until it disappeared in the distance.

More and moreendangered species are being protected.

3. ... as ... as possible/ one can
表示“盡可能...”
Ill be here as early as possible/ I can.
我會盡早過來。
To stay healthy, one should take as much exercise as possible/ you can.
為了保持健康,人們應該盡可能多地鍛煉身體。
4. not so ... as ....
與其說是…倒不如說是…
He is not so clever as diligent.
與其說他聰明倒不如說他勤奮。
She is not so kind as simple.
與其說她善良不如說她單純。
She was not so much nervous as impatient for the journey to be over.
她與其說緊張,不如說不耐煩地等著旅行結束。
He is not so much a writer as a scholar.
與其說他是一個學者不如說他是一個作家。
He is not so much a genius as a hard worker.
他的努力勝于天份。
